Janim (Жаным): Kazakh/Kipchak endearment meaning something like 'sweetheart'. The Yaks are depicted as being Central Asian, but without an attempt at differentiating between Mongol and Turkic; I decided to go with the latter. As the Central Asian Republics are largely Muslim and spent most of the 20th century under the secular USSR, Christmas is largely ignored in favor of New Year's; to a much lesser extent this is even true in Christian Russia.
